Simple House Blessing

A suggested format to bless the space within the four walls
of your home:
1. Set your intention for the ritual first by becoming
clear about what kind of experience you want from the
ceremony.
2. Prepare and purify the home, by sweeping out old
unwanted cosmic "dust" and by burning sage to purify the
energy.
3. Ask those who occupy the home and anyone you invited to
share the celebration with you to write down their wishes
for the home. (Such as "I desire that this home is a safe
haven where I can freely be myself and not worry about
anything or anyone harming me here.")
4. Gather these wishes in a basket and burn them in a
fireproof container.
5. You may want to offer a prayer to Hestia, the Goddess of
hearth and home, saying " I invite you into this home and
give thanks to you. As our prayers travel upward on the
smoke to you, may your blessings travel downward through
the smoke to us. May this home truly become a sanctuary
for all who enter here.
6. After an invocation, there needs to be silent pause to
allow the participants to absorb and feel what is
happening.
7. At the conclusion of the ceremony, acknowledge with
gratitude the blessings that were received.
